Back to Lindos

We love Lindos and its acropolis so much that we returned to spend another day there, walking through the narrow streets in the town, and ending up sitting in the sun at the temple to Apollo, reading Gerald Durrell out loud. A woman — the only other visitor there at the time — was sunning herself nearby, so we moved to another place in the site when the story began to get raucous and funny, so as to not disturb her with our uncontrolled laughter.

Compared to our town of Malona, there are few solar water heaters in Lindos. In Malona, almost every house has one on its roof.

Even without gardens, the village's homes are well landscaped.

This is a small amphitheater in the village, and on the hill behind it is an ancient amphitheatre, to the right of the white houses just below the castle.

Behind many of these beautiful doors are courtyards, another site for gardens.

Ria has become accustomed to drinking small portions of wine in Europe, and chafes under the U.S.'s strict laws, despite not really, truly liking wine. It's the prohibition that makes it so interesting.
